Who we are

Open Universe, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Miami, Florida. Open Invitational, Open Invitational Gallery, Open Museum and The Living Collection are its programs. Mailing address: 445 W 40th St, PO Box 402189, Miami Beach, FL 33140.

What we collect

• Information you give us. Your name, email, phone and message when you join our mailing list, contact us, apply, RSVP, book a consultation, or become a member.
• Donations and purchases. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email, amount and what you bought or gave. We never see or store your full card number.
• Photos you upload. If you use Design Your Space, the photo of your wall is used to suggest artworks and is shared with our curators.
• App notifications. If you allow notifications in the app, your device receives a push token so we can send you news about exhibitions, fairs and events. You can turn this off at any time in your phone's settings.
• Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard information such as browser type and pages visited, to keep the site running and secure.

The app does not access your location, contacts, camera roll or microphone, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

To answer you, send the updates you asked for, process gifts and purchases, issue tax receipts, run our programs, and improve the site and app. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that help us operate, under their own privacy and security terms: Stripe (payments), HubSpot (contacts and email), Airtable (records), Vercel (hosting), Google and Apple (app notifications and app stores), and, for Design Your Space, an AI image service that analyzes the wall photo you choose to upload. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom, turn off app notifications in your phone settings, or ask us to see, correct or delete your information by writing to info@openuniverse.org. We keep information only as long as we need it for these purposes or as the law requires, such as donation records.

Children

Our site and app are for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and trusted providers to protect your information, though no system is perfectly secure.
